Hiking in New Zealand can be more than just a physical activity. It is also an effective therapy and the perfect way to soothe your soul as you let go of your worries, thanks to the beautiful sceneries the country has to offer. There are so many wonderful hiking tracks to choose from that it can be quite difficult to settle with one.

The Abel Tasman Coastal Track

This track may take three to five days to complete. After covering 52km of walking, you will find some awe-inspiring sandy beaches, sheltered coves, untouched bush, and rocky headlands. Just make sure to be physically fit to continue walking for days before you reach the finish line of this track. It is even the least strenuous track to cover among the country’s Great Walks, but with the same reward in the form of natural beauty. Time your crossings with the low-tide so prepare early. This way, you can focus the rest of the day on rare animal encounters.

Hollyford Track

This is found in the Hollyford Valley, where the rainforest kisses the glacial waters. It is one of the two areas in the world with such a set-up.

The guided option for this walk is designed for a group of at most 16 people. The group can spend the night at a private lodge.

Day one can cover 17km, day two can be spent walking 14km, and day three for around 9km. The walk is made easy with the help of marked trails and the use of swinging bridges hanging over river waters.

Hikers can cross over the pristine lake by taking a jet boat. They can also get out of the valley by helicopter. The plane ride will also give you a an aerial view of the Milford Sound.

Tongariro Crossing

This is a one-day walk that makes it great for first-time hikers. However, it requires walking at a high altitude and across a volcanic terrain that will show you the beauty of an active crater, the path where lava flows, cold mountain springs, and crater lakes shining brightly in all their emerald beauty. Before conquering the Tongariro Crossing, make sure you are fit and excited about the hike.

Hiking through Tongariro Crossing will likely be a dream come true for Lord of the Rings fans as this place served as the movie’s Mount Doom. If you want a safe trek, you can hire a guide and even gain historical insight into the place.

Milford Track

Since this is New Zealand’s most famous track, prepare yourself to hike with a huge crowd. A guided tour will show you the fjordlands, where the valleys and mountains meet, with the amazing beauty of nature presented in the form of waterfalls, gorges, and deep water lakes.

On the third day, you will climb up the zig zag track of the Mackinson Pass. This is the most physically demanding part of the trek, but it is also the most rewarding when you look at the scene in front of you. The fiordland trek usually takes three days and four nights of camping, with seven hours of walking each day.

Queen Charlotte Track

This trek covers 71k and takes you through bays, inlets, and green waters. You can start the trek without a guide, although first-time trekkers might feel safer with a guide. Accommodation is offered by B&Bs, luxury lodges, homestays, camp sites, and motels all throughout the Marlborough Sounds.

Aside from hiking, trekkers can also take a break to swim and kayak, rent a yacht, cruiser, or speed boat, or tour around some vineyards in the sounds.

Have these spots mapped out in your campervan trip. You can just park your campervan in any of the holiday parks close to these spots and just go back to that spot after your walk. This is the beauty of camping and trekking in New Zealand.

If you dream of travelling around New Zealand and taking in the sights of its natural gifts, driving around in a campervan would be a good idea. You won’t be the only one doing it because many tourists in the country explore it in their campervans. This is because New Zealand is ideal for a campervan adventure.

Convenience and Affordability

Campervans are usually equipped with a bed, bedding, cookware, stove, and utensils. You can even comfortably wash your food and everything else in the built-in kitchen sink. But more than just the beauty and convenience of a campervan, it is also affordable to use this mode of transportation around New Zealand. What’s even better is that you can make new paths and set your own pace while exploring the country.

Easy Driving Terrain

If you are concerned about driving, you don’t need to worry about that. The New Zealand terrain makes it easier to drive. The roads are not troubled by traffic and angry and frustrated drivers and passengers. When you arrive in the country, arrange for someone to pick you up, and get ready for a great vacation ahead.

Number of Campsites

Another reason to try camping in New Zealand is the number of campsites and holiday parks in the country. Almost every town, tourist spot, beach, and national park has a campsite nearby. You don’t even need to book a hotel room when you can sleep in your campervan. Some of these campsites can even accommodate you for free. But if you want to switch accommodations, you can always book one of those campground cabins.

Campground Facilities

Campgrounds in New Zealand are well-equipped to handle campervan travellers. Many of them offer the following facilities, some paid while others are for free:

– Laundry facilities

– Hot showers

– Satellite TV

– Picnic tables

– Kitchen with stove, refrigerator, tables, chairs, and sinks

– Internet

Some campsites even provide hot tubs, swimming pools, playground, games room, and trampoline for tired campers.

Public Restrooms

If you are particular about the cleanliness of the toilet that you use, many of the toilets in New Zealand might impress you. These are still public restrooms maintained with pristine conditions. They are even available to the public for free. You don’t have to worry about stopping at dirty public restrooms on the road if you don’t want to clog up your toilet in the campervan.

Modern and Remote Campsites

However, don’t expect all campsites to be like a resort with their media rooms and pools. Some are found in more remote locations and managed by the department of conservation. These campsites thought will show you just what nature is really like without human interference.

You can still travel safely and comfortably around New Zealand even in a basic campervan. As long as you can find campsites in the areas that you plan on visiting, you will be fine. Even if it rains, you can simply sit in your van and enjoy the weather, watch a movie, or play games with the family.

Campervan travellers love New Zealand for these reasons. Now, you can have a taste of it too if you go and book that campervan for your next vacation.

Your first campervanning experience all over New Zealand should be a memorable one. But you can ensure that your memories will be mostly positive ones if you know what to do on the road.

Why Go Campervanning

New Zealand and Australia are favourites among campervan travellers because of their diverse and breathtaking scenery and various adventures. This kind of travelling has even prompted New Zealand to welcome travellers into campsites, holiday parks, and caravan parks.

Tips for Success

As first-time campervan traveller, the following tips might minimise your struggles and maximise the joy while you’re on the road:

– Some campsites in New Zealand are completely for free. However, others require travellers to donate a small amount, such as those sites in Maori Land. You can be assured though that these are authentic campsites with great amenities.

– Buy your food, drinks, and water from supermarkets. They are cheaper there compared to those found in service stations.

– There are campervan rental companies that offer extra services, such as a driver, zero one-way fees, and camping equipment. You might want to look for these companies if you want the freebies.

– Be ready to meet a lot of new people during your trip. The best thing about using campervans is that you can control wherever and whenever you go, unlike those paid tours that will limit you to your group, to certain tourist spots, and to a certain travelling time.

– Don’t be afraid to pay more for a rental campervan with better features. Your money won’t be wasted on a campervan with a fridge and a gas hob, for instance. These are important features for a family that prefers to cook and are great ways to save money during the trip as well.

– Pack some camping chairs. These are must-haves if you want to sit around and take in the view of the camping grounds and campsites.

– Look for powered campgrounds. Many campervans have powerpoints used to recharge electrical devices, but you have to power them up in campgrounds with a 240v main power.

– Bring mosquito repellent and coils. These are especially important during summer.

– Research more about the weather and the temperatures in New Zealand during different seasons, especially during the winter. If you have no other free time to roam the country except in the winter, then you should look for campervans with heaters. Bring extra duvets for extra heat.

– Practice driving bigger cars first. Campervans are larger and taller than your regular cars. If you want to build your confidence in your driving skills, practice.

– Give some time to rest before going on your campervan trip. No matter how excited you are to be on the New Zealand road, it is not safe and healthy to drive right away. Rest your jetlag away and book a hotel room for a few days before starting your road trip.

– Be prepared to clean the toilet if you choose a campervan with a toilet and a shower.

Enjoy your first campervan experience with the help of these tips. When you talk to the other campers, be sure to take note of their life-on-the-road lessons too.

Hey! Are you excited this day? Maybe yes, or maybe not. In case you have deliberately forgotten, it is February 14 – the day for couples and even those who are not. As long as there is love, there is a reason to celebrate Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t matter whether you are still single. Don’t worry. You will have the right one for you in God’s time.

Are you ready with your Valentine gift? If you are still searching, let us have a brief campervan drive and find the best Valentine gift there is in New Zealand. Your search will be easily accomplished if you have a swift drive through your campervan.

Is it always flowers and chocolates?

Though flowers and chocolates are the symbolical gifts during Valentine’s Day, you can still give something to your loved one other than these usual finds. If you want to have a not so ordinary date with your girlfriend or boyfriend, you can always visit New Zealand with your campervan.

New Zealand is a very romantic place wherein you can spend your Valentine date together. Plan ahead so that you have the time and of course, the funds to travel in New Zealand. New Zealand is a very easy place to go on to, as long as you have that reliable campervan.

Though New Zealand has tough roads ahead, we’re sure that you will still enjoy your travel because you are with your loved one. This New Zealand trip with your loved one will surely engrave precious memories to each of your heart.

Why a New Zealand trip is the best Valentine gift?

A trip to New Zealand may seem to be costly, but it’s worth a try. Valentine’s Day is only celebrated once a year, so why don’t you spend a little to make the most out of your special day? On the brighter side, there are some ways on how to cut costs during your Valentine travel. And one way to cut costs is through hiring a campervan.

Going back to the topic, having a New Zealand trip is one of the best Valentine gifts. New Zealand is a very fantastic place. The Kiwis (New Zealand people) are proud of their country because it is a well developed place. The scenic views of New Zealand are also incomparable. From the green mountains to the deep blue seas, you and your loved one will definitely be amazed.

Aside from that, if you spend your special Valentine date in New Zealand, you and your loved one can do several adventurous activities together. You can do mountain climbing, white water rafting, fishing, swimming, whale watching, and many more. These activities are more worth than just flowers and chocolates. But of course, if you still want to have a more Valentine-ish spirit, you can still hand over a dozen roses and boxes of sweet chocolates to your girlfriend. But this time, giving them is more special since you are in New Zealand.

Now, have you found the best gift for your Valentine?
